Login to eChurch7 with Facebook

You might notice that in the login block for this site, there is a button to connect using your facebook account.  This will allow users who are currently logged into their facebook account to login to eChurch7 without entering a username and password.  In other words, you won't need to remember an extra username/password combo!

The way this works is you need to connect your eChurch7 account with your facebook account.  There are 2 possibilities for this: 1.) You already have an eChurch7 account and want to associate it with your facebook account and 2.) You are new to eChurch7, but you have a facebook account and don't want to remember a password for yet another site.  I'll cover these scenarios below.

Associating your existing eChurch7 account with your facebook account

Click on the facebook connect button.  You will then see a link to connect your eChurch7 account with your facebook account.  Click this and you will then need to login with your eChurch7 username/password.  This will link your eChurch7 account to your facebook account, so you may login to eChurch7 via the facebook connect button.

Create a new eChurch7 account using your facebook account

Click on the facebook connect button, then click on the link to create a new eChurch7 account.  You will need to select a username and set some initial information about yourself.  When you are done, click the submit button.  At this point, your account is setup, but not activated.  Once an administrator activates your account, you may return to eChurch7.com and login via the facebook connect button.

In order to login to eChurch7.com with your facebook account, you will need to be logged into facebook.  You may still log in with your eChurch7 username and password, it just requires some typing. :-)  So, assuming that you are logged into facebook and you have an active eChurch7 account connected to your facebook account, click on the facebook connect button in the login block.  That's all there is to it!

Important note about the forum

It is important to note that the facebook connect feature works for eChurch7.com (the main site) and NOT the forum.  It is hoped that in the coming weeks, the current forum will be replaced in order make it more accessible and easier to maintain, but until then, you will still need to login with your eChurch7 account information.
