This forum is dedicated to providing instructions to members and soon-to-be members on how to use the site and forums. There are two types of posts that should be made here: those asking about how to perform a given task, and those that explain how to do a task. Any other post may be moved to an appropriate forum, or deleted so as to not clutter this forum with irrelevent dialogue.
Please adhere to the following guidelines when posting questions or quides:
Keep topics in the appropriate forum
This forum is for general user tasks. Questions that pertain to any task that a regular user might have may be asked here.
Try to search for a solution before asking a question
In the header area of this site is a search box. If there is already a solution to your question, and you have access to that solution, then searching should find it. If you have searched and don't find anything, then go ahead and post a question.
Create a new topic with a descriptive title
If you are unable to find a solution to your question by searching, and wish to ask for help (this is recommended, by the way), please start a new topic for your question and make the title as descriptive as possible. It would also be helpful to start the title with "[QUESTION]", such as "[QUESTION] How to I add images to my posts". Similarly, if answering a question, or just adding to the knowledgebase, start a new topic with a title explaining your tutorial and start the title with "[TUTORIAL]", ie "[TUTORIAL] How to add images to posts.
Sufficiently answered questions should be deleted
Discussion may take place in the "question" thread about how to go about solving the problem. Once the asker is satisfied with a solution, the original question topic should be deleted so as to not confuse others that come into the forum.
It's ok to ask questions in [TUTORIAL] threads
If a tutorial doesn't fully answer a question on the subject, then that is a fine place to ask a question concerning the topic.
