Your avatar is an image to represent yourself on the site. This can be picture or cartoon representation of you. While you can use anything, we do prefer an actual picture of yourself, at least until after your account is activated. Uploaded images can be any size up to 1600x1400 pixels, and should be larger than 200x200 pixels. The system will automatically resize the image on the server so that they are a reasonable size in the posts and profiles (and so they don't take a long time to download.)
Upload an avatar during registration
When you are first registering your account at echurch7.com, you have the ability to upload your avatar at that time. In fact, it is currently required in order to help us determine if your account should be activated. At this stage, it is EXTREMELY beneficial to use an actual picture of yourself. Once your account has been activated, if you wish to change it to a drawing or a picture of your pet, you can follow the instructions below.
Change your existing avatar
You may become bored with your current avatar and wish to change it. First, look at the sidebar and find the "My Account" link. This will take you to your profile.
Once in your profile, click the edit tab:
This will bring up the area where you can edit your account information, including changing your password. Note that the "Account" tab will need to be selected. "Personal Information" is miscellaneous information about yourself.
Scroll about halfway down the page, and there will be a "Picture" region. This is similar to where you uploaded an avatar during registration. Simply browse for a new picture, then scroll to the bottom and click the save button. All of your old posts, as well as your new ones, will have this new avatar!
